April 12th - 15th, 2012 COLUMBUS, OH - ARTISCAPE: At the invitation of Lisa Ohmer, director of the Artiscape artist's gathering, Jonathan will return to Artiscape this year. This event will be held in the Columbus suburb of Dublin, Ohio. Jonathan will present two 4-hour Collage Workshops ($77 each), one 4-hour Acrylic Image Transfer workshop ($89 fee includes free copy of Jonathan's new book on Acrylic Image Transfer), and one evening presentation: "Women Artists You Should Know" (included in Artiscape weekend pass). 2-day weekend workshop will be held at Utica College in connection with
"The End is Near," a collage exhibition to be held in the college's
Edith Barret art gallery at that time. Enjoy new opportunities for spontaneity
as you learn how to eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly
process. Other subjects to be covered include "Getting Started," Accessing
our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied
Images, Preserving Found Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources
of Tools and Materials, Presentation and Framing of Finished Works, and
more (some of this workshop's specific goals will be determined by the
participants at the beginning of the workshop). Hours: 9:30 AM to 5:30

Here. \ Saturday, May 5th, 2012. WOODLAND HILLS, CA: COLLAGE ARTISTS OF AMERICA - LECTURE & DEMONSTRATION: This lecture demonstration was for members of the Collage Artists of America only. Monday, May 7th thru Friday, May 11th, 2012. SAN DIEGO, CA: DANCING WITH DESIGN; Exploring Composition with Collage: During this five-day workshop presented by The San Diego Watercolor Society we will explore collage without liquid adhesives and "free-up" our approach to composition by using collage to explore a variety of the aspects of design. Included will be intellectual, intuitive, interactive and kinesthetic approaches to line, shape, color (including hue, value, and intensity), texture, movement, rhythm, relativity, interest, and unity. Also included will be information on "Getting Started," Accessing our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied Images, Preserving Found Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources of Tools and Materials, Presentation and Framing of Finished Works (including works containg three-dimensional elements, and more (some of this workshop's specific goals will be determined by the participants at the beginning of the workshop). HONOR AMONG THIEVES - Appropriation in the Visual Arts: During this FREE lecture demonstration Jonathan will present a detailed personal example of “artistic thievery” as well as a broader look at appropriation in the visual arts. He will also demonstrate his innovative collage technique which removes liquid adhesives from the collage assembly process and sell and sign copies of his books Collage: A New Approach, Acrylic Image Transfer: A Handbook for Artists, and The Artists' Marketing & Action Plan Workbook. JONATHAN
TALBOT: A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY: The works of artist Jonathan Talbot have been exhibited at The National Academy and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, have represented the U.S. overseas in exhibitions sponsored by the State Department and the Smithsonian Institution, and are included in museum collections in U.S. and Europe. Talbot's works include oils, watercolors, etchings, collages, and multi-dimensional collage-constructions. Among the public collections holding Talbot works are The Newark Museum, The Smith College Museum, The Everhart Museum, The Byer Museum, The Montclair Museum, The Free Library of Philadelphia, The San Francisco Academy of Art, Fairleigh Dickinson University, The Provincetown Historical Society, and the Toronto Central Library. Talbot maintains his studio in Warwick, NY where he lives with his wife Marsha. They are the parents of two children: a daughter, Loren, and a son, Garret. For additional information Click Here |
